MUSCAT: The Cultural Club launched 19 new publications for 2026, highlighting the work of Omani writers and enriching Oman’s literary and cultural output.
The launch ceremony at the Club’s headquarters in Al Qurum was held under the auspices of Mohammed bin Said al Balushi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Information.
Dr Mohammed bin Ali al Balushi, Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors, said the Club continues to implement its National Book Support Programme, launched in 2006 to support the publication of books, studies and research in intellectual and cultural fields.
The Club received more than 60 manuscripts last year, of which 19 were selected for publication in 2026. It has received a further 42 manuscripts this year, which are currently being reviewed.
The new publications cover a range of genres, including literary and intellectual studies, poetry, short stories, novels and children’s literature. They include works on Arabic linguistics and dialects, Omani poetry, philosophy, culture, mythology and the natural heritage of Oman.
Five novels resulting from the Club’s 'A Complete Life' writing programme and workshops were also launched.
The initiative reflects the Cultural Club’s continued efforts to support Omani writers and make their literary and intellectual works accessible to readers.
